BACK TO SCHOOL

So long Spring Break....Hello Spring Quarter. So another break come and gone. We started our Spring Quarter this week. Once again we have all 3 classes the same. So nice to know someone in the class. Also, always have some one around that can help with the homework. We are still going to St. Cloud on Monday nights. Only 9 more classes over there and then the rest will be online.
Lately I have been dreaming about being done with school. Things job wise have not been going the greatest lately hence the dreaming. But by this time next year the dream will be a lot closer...in fact it will be in reach!!
So we have been having serious talks about the future and where it will bring us. Right now...it is looking north! But time will tell.
But for now....it is time to hit the books! Study, Study, Study....

SAVE ELY

I'm not sure how many have heard but Ontario is trying to buy our awesome town of Ely, MN. For those of you who have been there know that it is a town that you automatically fall in love with when you first arrive. It is such a cute, rustic town. Also know for Dorothy's Root Beer....yum yum. Anways, I found a petition that has been started called Save Ely. You can sign the petition by going to ely.org
For those of you who know this town know that we don't want to see it go. For those of you who have not been there, they are recommending you go this summer before it is gone. If you don't plan on going or have not been there, please sign the petition anyway. I don't want to see it go. It is one of the only places left in the U.S. that has this kind of wilderness. Why should we sell it to another country. I will be totally bummed if it is moved to Canada.
Sign the Petition.........The choice is yours!!!

Weekend Project/ Birthday Present

This past weekend we took to dad's shop and made ourselves a new end table and a new coffee table. Last week was my birthday and mom and dad gave me a gift certificate to menards. So we decided to build ourselves some new furniture. I'd say it turned out pretty nice myself. So nice to get rid of the coffee table from the 70's.

It is so nice to have a shlef under the table too. David likes to leave his school books scattered all over the couch.....maybe this will give him the incentive to put them away or at least on the shelf so someone else can sit on the couch.

So we are finally on Spring break. Well, it's actually almost over. We had 2 weeks off. We are now almost to the end of week 2. Next monday night it is back to school starting quarter 3. We are both proud to say that we have 4.0 GPAs....which also means we made it to the Deans List again. YAY!!

Well that is all for now.

Why is it??

Why is it that those animals that people love to hunt like to run out in front of cars? Why can't they stay on their sides of the road? Why can't they look both ways before crossing the street? These are some of the questions we have been asking ourselves this weekend. David was up close and personal with one of them Thursday night on his way home from work. I was sound asleep when he calls at 1:30 that morning. I hate calls at that time of night. I know that they are never good. He creamed a deer but luckily for us, it wasn't too bad. We could have brought it in to the shop and had them take care of it with insurance. But we are lucky to have his dad who can fix just about anything. So for only $8 David and his dad were able to fix it rather than spending $500. And it is barely noticeable now. Once summer comes he will do some more tinkering on it.

On a brighter note, I finally got some good pictures of our cute little critters. This is my Remy. We built her that house just a couple of hours before this. She loves it. We have been having a little trouble with her. Lets just say she doesn't like David at all. Every time he puts his hand in her cage she runs after him and tries to bite his hand. She doesn't really like it when I do it either but she knows if she bites me she won't get treats or get to come out and play. So I have had to spend lots of time working with her. She is scarred of us now because she bite David once and he ended up throwing her across the room on accident. He was just trying to get her to let go of his finger. It was funny but I felt so bad for her. So now she has that little trust issue. I have been spending about an hour with her each day trying to get her to calm down. It is working slowly but surely.

This is David's little Snowball. She is so cute and curious. We don't have really any problems with her. She is very tame. We can pick her up anytime....well not if you wake her up. She doesn't like that....but then again who likes being woke up. I can understand where she is coming from. She likes to stand on top of her little house and try to jump out of the cage. It is quite humerus. First of all she is in a glass cage and they don't really have claws. Second, hamsters can't jump very good. They can get like 1/2 inch off the ground. Last, the cage is a good 6 inches above her house. So now picture her standing on the house trying to jump out. I have never laughed so hard. It was pretty funny. She is bound and determined to get out. But we don't have to worry too much.
