Fall

October 8th

Every year we go to the apple orchard. This year the whole family went. First we went up to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins. Then we went through the corn maze. Then down to the apple store. We always love doing this....lots of nummy food!

The next day we took pictures of Alli in her Halloween costume. There were a ton of leaves so we just raked them into a pile and put Alli in them. She wasn't too sure about all the leaves.

Back to Work

(September 29th)

I started back to work a week and a half ago. I started on a Thursday to ease back into it. The Monday before I started back, I thought I was ready to be back in a normal routine. I had daycare all lined up and everything in order....or so I thought. I thought between David having 2 days off every 2 days, mom & dad being able to watch Alli on Monday and only having to have daycare 1 day one week and 2 days the next that it was going to work out very nicely.

Tuesday night before I started work, I got a call from the lady that was going to do daycare saying that she took on a full time infant and couldn't watch Alli since she was only going to be a part time infant. You can imagine how frustrated I was....I started back to work in 2 days and had no daycare. Luckily I started back on days that David was home with Alli. Also....I'm VERY lucky to have an awesome aunt and uncle that are retired and willing to help us out by watching Alli when we ask them.

2 Months

(October 2nd)

Alli is 2 months old...where has the time gone?

Her stats are:
12.6 lbs
23 inches long

When we brought her in for her 2 month well child I made sure to schedule it on a day that David had off. I was not about to do this all by myself. I made him hold Alli down when it came time for the shots. I don't know who had it worse....me or Alli. I watched the nurse do the first shot and then saw how hard Alli was crying. I couldn't watch her get the last two. I have only seen Alli cry that hard one other time and it's hard to watch her cry like that.
On the plus side, this little girl is discovering and learning something new every day. I love watching her do this. She can now smile...close to laughing at times I swear! She is all smiles when she wakes up and I try to make sure that get all those smiles. She is trying to figure out how to use her hands. She has just discovered how to suck on her hands and fingers. She loves to be outside.

I just love watching her and seeing her discover new things.

2 Weeks Old

(August 16th)

We brought Alli in for her 2 week checkup. She is now 8 lbs 6 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. I look back at pictures of her when she was first born and can really see that she has grown. She is more awake and alert now.

Some of her favorite things to do right now are take a bath and take naps.

During bath time she is so calm and loves to kick her feet in the water.
Here she is snoozing on the couch in the afternoon.

Time is flying by right now...I wish it would slow down. We just try to soak in as much time as we can with this little one!

Alli Jane Helmbrecht

Alli Jane Helmbrecht - Born August 2nd, 2011 at 10:43 pm. She was 7lbs 15 oz. and 20 inches long.

After going in on Monday the 1st for an induction, they did a C-Section because I just wasn't progressing like I should have. We were so happy when she finally arrived.

Proud Daddy holding her in the Nursery while I was in recovery

The next morning (3rd) when I really got to enjoy her

The day we brought her home. Daddy and Alli do this a lot and I love seeing it every time!

Getting Ready for Baby

We have been busy getting ready for this little one to join our family. We think we have everything we need. The room is done and we have a good supply of clothes and diapers...along with all the other accessories that go along with babies. We are now just playing the waiting game so I thought I would share some photos of her room.

I have enjoyed getting everything ready for her. This pregnancy has gone very well for me...no morning sickness...feeling over pretty good.

Some of the things I won't miss about being pregnant:

- Trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in at night

- Getting up to go to the bathroom every 2-3 hours

- Not being able to paint my toes - thank you David for taking care of this for me :)

- Feeling the urge to cry over nothing

Cravings that I've had:

- Ice cold milk - my biggest craving throughout all 9 months

- Strawberries - try finding fresh, good strawberries in the winter...not easy

Things that I will miss:

- Feeling her move at random times...especially when I'm having a bad day

- Those little hiccups that she gets

Things I look forward to:

- Showing her the world, taking her places

- Taking her camping

- Being able to put a face to her name

- Teaching her everything she needs to know

We are ready to welcome this little one into the world...now if we just knew her schedule on when she plans on doing this :) We both couldn't be more excited!! Life will never be the same but it will be in a good way! We love you Alli!
