BUSY FUN FILLED WEEKEND

This weekend was busy and VERY fun! Friday after I got off work, we headed down to the county fair. We walked around and enjoyed the fair food and animals. But we are glad that it is over because it is only a block away from our house and it gets crazy around here then.

Saturday we got up early and headed to Grantsburg, Wisconsin for the water skips. For those of you who do not know what this is, it is snowmobile racing done on water. Very fun!! It was a beautiful day for it. Not too hot or humid. But I did get a little too much sun....yes I got sunburned. My shoulders look like lobsters!! LOL!! Oh well at least we had fun.

These are just a few of the pictures that we have. If the snowmobile sinks in the water and they cut the engine before it actually goes under, the snowmobile can be up and running in a new race within 10 minutes. Amazing!! Looks like a lot of fun out there. They definitely stayed cool out there. We plan to go to this again next kyear. Maybe even catch another one later on this year. The pros were even there. It was just amazing what they were doing out there.
As if that wasn't enough excitment for the weekend. After we got back into town, Kyle and Pam came over and we went to the Mora parade. That was pretty fun. Not as fun as when we were kids though.
Another adventure added to the summer!!

Life's Little Miracles

David's older sister, Sherri, just had her baby on June 30th. So this weekend we drove to Benson, MN to see the new addition to the family!!This is Angel Marie Helmbrecht. She is sooo adorable.
David was feeding her a bottle and told me that I was going to burp her because he didn't want her to spit up on him. So he fed her and fed her and fed her. Well you can imagine what happened when I got her. Yep, she spit up all over me. I hadn't had her more than 2 minutes. But babies will be babies. I'm sure that since there is a little one now that we will be visiting family out there much more often.

AWWH!!!!

We also got a chance to go and see David's mom. She just bought a new house there in Benson.
David certainly looks like his mom. She was showing us some pictures of when he was a baby. Such a cute little boy he was!!
Well there is another adventure that we did this summer. Add that to the list!!

Never A Dull Moment

Wednesday night was quite the night. Now you may ask what is wrong with this xray. Actually nothing is wrong. But what happened before the xray was a different story. David dislocated his shoulder last night. He was not a happy camper. Luckily for us it is under Work Comp. I was woke up at 12:30 by a phone call from him saying to go pick him up from the ER in Princeton. That was the beginning of a long night. He didn't get discharged from there until almost 4 that morning. I had to leave the house to go to work at 7:20. You do the math! So it looks like this weekend will be spent taking it easy.
This is not the first time this has happened to this shoulder either. Not good. But hey, at least he seems to be his old self so I won't argue!!

Camping in Banning

This weekend we went camping up at Banning State Park. We had a blast up there. A lot of hiking to do. There was so much to see and not a whole lot of time to see it all in. We went up there Friday night and stayed through Saturday. We were going to stay up there through Sunday but it was too hot out. We were literally sweating like pigs. YUCK!!

This is our campsite that we satyed at. Not too shabby if you ask me. Rather quite nice. The bathrooms and the showers were right behind us.

This is the other campsite that we got. Kevin, Emma, and Andi stayed at this one.

How many gummy bears can a chipmunk put in his mouth??
The answer is 5.

This was our visitor that we had. He was always around somewhere. He was eating bread, graham crackers, and if you haven't guessed gummy bears!!

Here is everyone taking a breather on one of our hikes. The park is by an old quarry area so it is very rocky.

This is an old building that is over 100 years old. There used to be a train that ran right along side it.

I've never been this close to a deer before in the wild. She really didn't even care that we were there. CRAZY!

Everyone lounging at the waterfall. We all thought it was going to be bigger than what it actaually was.

There is a porcupine up in this tree. It was hard to get a good picture of him since he was so far away. This is the only alive on that I've seen outside of a zoo. I have seen on dead on the side of the road.
That is our camping adventure. We had so much fun that we think we might do that again real soon!! We enjoy being outside and sitting by the campfire at night telling stories.
