So, Christmas was very fun this year as usual. We had a fun filled day with my family on Christmas Eve. We were spoiled by everyone like usual. Then on Christmas Day, we went out to Benson to spend the day with David's side of the family. We ended up bringing home David's nephew, Brian who is 9 and his niece, Angel who is 18 months. We had a fun few days with them. Angel is the cutest little thing ever. I wouldn't mind taking her again. She didn't cry once the entire time we had her. And she sees us a few times a year.
What a cute little munchkin. She is just learning how to talk and every morning when we got up she greeted us with smiles and lots of "hi"s. It was so cute. We brought them back on Saturday.
Monday I started my new job. Things are going pretty good there. Loads to learn!! It is going to take me quite a while to get the hang of things but it's all good.
So for right now....it's all good, life is good!!
P.S. No we still have not picked a date for the wedding.....we're working on it.

Exciting News
Back in October, I had interviewed for a position as a PC Technician at the local hospital. I received a call back this past week offering me the position. So on December 29th, I will be starting my new job as a PC Tech for Sisu Medical Solutions. This will be nice since the hospital is only a few blocks away from our place. I may also have the opportunity to tansfer after we have graduated from school since the company is based out of Duluth, MN, which is where we would both like to live near. So that is a little bit of news that I thought I would share.
Hope Everyone Has A Safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Don't wat too much turkey!!

It's Official
Well, it's official. We are engaged!! This happened last weekend....or a couple weekends ago. We were in the mall and David said that we needed to go check out rings. We had been talking about getting married. So we went in and he had me pick out the ring so that he was sure I would like it. The next thing we knew, we were having it shipped out to get sized. I picked it up last weekend. All of the parents now know, so I thought we would post it.
Now comes for the stressfull part....planning the wedding.... as if I didn't have enough going on right now!

Happy Halloween
Just wanted to say Happy Halloween to everyone. I know that I am a little early but I probably won't be around or won't have time to get a shout out to everyone before then. Still not quite sure what to plan is for Halloween but I'm sure that I will end up over at mom and dad's handing out candy to all the trick-o-treaters. We don't get any here at the apartment. I do enjoy seeing all the little kids dress up. They are so cute! So I hope every one has a safe and Happy Halloween!!!

FALL
The best things about Fall:
1. The colors of the leaves changing on the trees
2. The smell of leaves and pine needles - and the smell of the leaf burning piles
3. Going to apple orchards and pumpkin patches
4. The smell of apple and pumpkin pie
5. Being able to snuggle up in a sweatshirt of a blanket
6. The cool nights and warm days
7. Seeing all the kids get excited about Halloween
8. Being able to bake in the kitchen with out roasting to death
9. Eating home made soups
10. The noise of the birds getting ready to migrate south for the winter
So there it is, my top 10 list of the best things I like about Fall. I have to say it is one of my favorite seasons. It is a toss up between Fall and Winter.
So I know I have not been the best blogger in the world. Things have just been so hectic lately. So here is an update on our busy lives. David is working for LAI Inc. down in Fridley. He is on 2nd shift and seems to enjoy it for the most part. He is putting in a lot of hours. He works a lot of 6-day work weeks. I have picked up a side painting job. This lady that I work with just bought a new house and had me paint her living room and kitchen, which I have completed and I think that I will be doing the master bedroom when they are ready for it to be done. So with work, school, and painting there just isn't much time for anything else.
We are on the down slide of school. These than one year and counting....41 weeks of actual school left, not including the weeks that we have off between quarters....but who's counting??
Ok so I'm going to say this again....I will TRY to be better at blogging.....no promises.

Almost Done
We are almost done with our summer quarter....YAY!!! There is only a week and a half left. Then we get a little break. Why is it that instructors always assign huge projects right before the end of the quarter....I mean, why couldn't they give us some warning. I think they just like to gang up on us and make our lives miserable for the last 3 weeks of class. So once I make it through these next few days it should be all good! =)

The Great Minnesota Get Together
The Minnesota State Fair
For Labor day weekend the family went down to the state fair. It was a great day. The last time I was there was 5 years ago. I totally understand why I only go every so often. You eat great food but get a stomach ache after you're all done. So Here is the list that we ate between every one (we all shared each others food so we could try more):
Lots of Cheese Curds, Pronto Pups, French Fries, Cinnamon Roll, Cheesecake on a Stick, Bacon on a Stick, Milk Shakes, Ice Cream Cone, mini donuts, Sweet Martha's Cookies, Deep Fried Pickles (MY FAVORITE), and lots of liquid to wash everything down.
I'm sure there is some that I missed. It's a good thing the fair is only for 2 weeks out of a year.
So a little update on the Schooling.
We are finishing up another quarter of school. Only 4 more to go. We both hope to make it on the Dean's List, perfect 4.0, and perfect attendance again this quarter. By this time next year, we will be getting ready for graduation!! YAY!! That time cannot come soon enough. But for right now we have 6 papers to write in approximately 2 weeks....so don't be expecting another post for a while....what's new right?? =)

Update
So I thought I'd catch you all up on what has been going on with us lately. Let's just say LOTS of homework. We are both going to school full time now and with that comes the added homework. Plus I have been picking up a lot of hours at work as well. Not much time for anything else.
There have been a few opportunities where we have been able to get out and enjoy some time together. Things we've done this summer:
Went to Taste of Minnesota and saw Finger Eleven
Went to motocross at the fair
Went for tons of walks
Watched lots of movies
All in all...not too busy of a summer. Well that is all I have for now. Maybe something exciting will happen soon that I can blog about...haha.

Family Vacation
Another family vacation has come and gone by way too fast. We all went up to Grand Marais for a long weekend. It was the first time mom and dad had ever been that far up north along the north shore. We couldn't have asked for better weather. For the most part it was sunny. Occassionally there would be a rain shower but it would be done and over with in less than 5 minutes.
We were able to visit many different State Parks this time. We went to Cascade, Grand Portage, Judge CR Magney, and Gooseberry state parks. The waterfalls at each one of these places were absolutely spectacular. This is a picture of Grand Portage High Waterfalls. This picture doesn't even do it justice. It was so amazing that water falls from that high. They were supposed to be the best that there have been in 15 years. So all the rain does pay off!!!!
This was every one just sitting by the lake where the Cascade River met Lake Superior. The only one missing from this picture would be David. He was off exploring on the other side of the river. It was nice to just relax and take in the scenery. And when there was down time, there were many games of Polish Horseshoes being played. I think now every one wants to make a set of the game.

It was sad that we had to come home so soon. We had to come back to the crazy life where it all passes by in a flash. Now everyone is just waiting for the time when we can all return again. That is all for now. As I sort through more pictures I may post them. I hope everyone is having a good summer so far!!! =)

Memorial Weekend
We are to the end of the nice long Memorial Weekend. David and I were lucky to get a 4 day weekend. Sure has been a nice fun filled weekend.
Friday morning we went out fishing with dad. Unfortunately we got skunked. Not one fish made it to the boat. Dad and I both had something but never saw it.
Saturday David and I loaded up our bikes and took them to Hinckley for a day of biking on the Munger Trail. The trail goes all the way from Hinckley to Duluth, which is about 80 some miles. We did about 8 miles Saturday. We went 4 miles out and then the 4 miles back. Next time we hope to make it to Sandstone which would be about a 16 mile round trip. It was a nice day for it. We both have sun burns to prove it. The wind was our only obsticle.
This is a catepillar that David saved. He was saving them as we went. Didn't want to see the poor little guys squished by bikes. I think he saved 3 all together. Now they can turn into pretty butterflies!!The rest of the weekend we have been doing some shore fishing. Not nearly as fun as being in the boat. But luckily for me, I broke my losing streak. Finally...the first time in over a year, I caught a fish. It was a little sunfish....nothing fancy. But hey, I'm one up on last year.
Hope everyone had a fabulous and safe weekend!!

Spring Is Finally Here
It's about time that Spring arrived. Finally the nice weather to be outside. These past couple of weeks have been really busy. We have been helping a friend accomplish some tasks to their house that they have been working on.
Yesterday was by far the best day that we have enjoyed in a long time. We took the canoe out and went for a ride. David was completely terrified at first. Since that was only the second time that he's been in a canoe. He couldn't remember how it all worked. I sat in the back just laughing almost the entire time. What really freaked him out was the rapids. It was pretty funny. But now he is excited to go back out and do it all again.
There are more spring activities happening this weekend that we are excited for. Have to fill you in later though.

Excuse Me
Excuse Me Mother Nature....but I think you have the wrong season!!!
I just took this picture a few minutes ago. It just started snowing like crazy here about 2 hours ago. We are almost to the middle of April. We are not supposed to be having blizzards. We are supposed to get over a foot of snow!! No Way!! When it was winter I wanted snow but now that it is Spring....I would appreciate some Spring weather. What happened to April showers brings May flowers??? There is no part in that saying that says anything about SNOW.
We are supposed to be enjoying days like this. Be able to go to the lake and relax. Not shoveling off the sidewalks and driveways!
So I am officially saying it....mark this down....NO MORE SNOW.....until next winter, then it can come visit again. So Mother Nature....could you please fix the seasons and bring us spring weather instead of winter??

BACK TO SCHOOL
So long Spring Break....Hello Spring Quarter. So another break come and gone. We started our Spring Quarter this week. Once again we have all 3 classes the same. So nice to know someone in the class. Also, always have some one around that can help with the homework. We are still going to St. Cloud on Monday nights. Only 9 more classes over there and then the rest will be online.
Lately I have been dreaming about being done with school. Things job wise have not been going the greatest lately hence the dreaming. But by this time next year the dream will be a lot closer...in fact it will be in reach!!
So we have been having serious talks about the future and where it will bring us. Right now...it is looking north! But time will tell.
But for now....it is time to hit the books! Study, Study, Study....

SAVE ELY
I'm not sure how many have heard but Ontario is trying to buy our awesome town of Ely, MN. For those of you who have been there know that it is a town that you automatically fall in love with when you first arrive. It is such a cute, rustic town. Also know for Dorothy's Root Beer....yum yum. Anways, I found a petition that has been started called Save Ely. You can sign the petition by going to ely.org
For those of you who know this town know that we don't want to see it go. For those of you who have not been there, they are recommending you go this summer before it is gone. If you don't plan on going or have not been there, please sign the petition anyway. I don't want to see it go. It is one of the only places left in the U.S. that has this kind of wilderness. Why should we sell it to another country. I will be totally bummed if it is moved to Canada.
Sign the Petition.........The choice is yours!!!
Weekend Project/ Birthday Present
This past weekend we took to dad's shop and made ourselves a new end table and a new coffee table. Last week was my birthday and mom and dad gave me a gift certificate to menards. So we decided to build ourselves some new furniture. I'd say it turned out pretty nice myself. So nice to get rid of the coffee table from the 70's.
It is so nice to have a shlef under the table too. David likes to leave his school books scattered all over the couch.....maybe this will give him the incentive to put them away or at least on the shelf so someone else can sit on the couch.
So we are finally on Spring break. Well, it's actually almost over. We had 2 weeks off. We are now almost to the end of week 2. Next monday night it is back to school starting quarter 3. We are both proud to say that we have 4.0 GPAs....which also means we made it to the Deans List again. YAY!!
Well that is all for now.

Why is it??
Why is it that those animals that people love to hunt like to run out in front of cars? Why can't they stay on their sides of the road? Why can't they look both ways before crossing the street? These are some of the questions we have been asking ourselves this weekend. David was up close and personal with one of them Thursday night on his way home from work. I was sound asleep when he calls at 1:30 that morning. I hate calls at that time of night. I know that they are never good. He creamed a deer but luckily for us, it wasn't too bad. We could have brought it in to the shop and had them take care of it with insurance. But we are lucky to have his dad who can fix just about anything. So for only $8 David and his dad were able to fix it rather than spending $500. And it is barely noticeable now. Once summer comes he will do some more tinkering on it.
On a brighter note, I finally got some good pictures of our cute little critters. This is my Remy. We built her that house just a couple of hours before this. She loves it. We have been having a little trouble with her. Lets just say she doesn't like David at all. Every time he puts his hand in her cage she runs after him and tries to bite his hand. She doesn't really like it when I do it either but she knows if she bites me she won't get treats or get to come out and play. So I have had to spend lots of time working with her. She is scarred of us now because she bite David once and he ended up throwing her across the room on accident. He was just trying to get her to let go of his finger. It was funny but I felt so bad for her. So now she has that little trust issue. I have been spending about an hour with her each day trying to get her to calm down. It is working slowly but surely.
This is David's little Snowball. She is so cute and curious. We don't have really any problems with her. She is very tame. We can pick her up anytime....well not if you wake her up. She doesn't like that....but then again who likes being woke up. I can understand where she is coming from. She likes to stand on top of her little house and try to jump out of the cage. It is quite humerus. First of all she is in a glass cage and they don't really have claws. Second, hamsters can't jump very good. They can get like 1/2 inch off the ground. Last, the cage is a good 6 inches above her house. So now picture her standing on the house trying to jump out. I have never laughed so hard. It was pretty funny. She is bound and determined to get out. But we don't have to worry too much.

SNOCROSS
This past weekend we went down to Canterbury Park for the Pro Snocross. It was a blast. Tucker Hibbert pretty much dominated the entire thing.
We had pit passes which was really nice. The guys were able to go on demo rides too. This is one of the racers snowmobiles up close.

HAMMIES
Our two new additions to the household. Remy and Snowball.....Snowball is the white one obviously and Remy is the black and brown one. Remy is mine and Snowball is David's. We had recieved some money from David's mom and grandparents for Christmas so we decided to do something fun with it. We called his mom up and told her what we got and she just laughed. But they were sooo cute and irresistable at the pet store that we couldn't pass them up. They have brought much laughter to our place. You can sit and watch them for hours. They are the two goofiest hamsters I've ever seen.
Snowball is smaller than Remy...must be the runt of the batch or something....anyways, she thinks that she needs to sleep UNDER Remy. So Remy will be all content, sleeping away but here comes Snowball and pesters her until she can get under the other one. Remy gets a little peeved at this sometimes. It is quite hummerous.
So long winter vacation!!! Today is our first day back to school for winter quarter. We will be going to St. Cloud on Monday nights now. But this class should be lots of fun. We get to build our own computer in this class. I personally enjoy the hands-on classes. They make learning so much more enjoyable. Besides the on-campus class, we still have 2 classes online. I was looking at them today and they look like they are going to be a little more work than the 3 we had last quarter. But all is good. I just keep telling myself....it is only for 11 weeks that you have to do this!! Iknow I'm pathetic sometimes!! But if I look for the light at the end of the tunnel....things go much smoother for me and faster.
Well hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather we are having......in this household.....it is not so much enjoyed......the snow is melting =(.......that means the sled is sitting in the shed waiting for the snow to come back!
